Additional leadership promotions set Alliant up for growth well into the future

IRVINE, CA — Alliant Insurance Services has announced the appointment of Greg Zimmer as Chief Executive Officer. He assumes the role from longtime Alliant leader Tom Corbett, who will remain as the company’s Executive Chairman.

Corbett, who joined Alliant in 1977, served as Alliant’s CEO for more than 30 years, guiding the company’s emergence into one of the nation’s top names in insurance brokerage and consulting.

“Tom’s outstanding leadership of Alliant has placed our organization in a remarkable position, bolstered by an entrepreneurial, collaborative culture that allows us to maximize our impact and grow with purpose,” said Zimmer. “We continue to attract the best talent in the industry and take tremendous pride in offering our clients an unparalleled level of service.”

“During his exceptional career with Alliant, Greg has successfully guided the company through a period of tremendous growth and expansion with both visionary leadership and an entrepreneurial focus,” said Corbett. “Greg’s appointment to CEO will ensure long-term stability for Alliant and will support our continued growth well into the future. I believe our best days are ahead of us.”

Zimmer joined Alliant in 1998 as CFO and was named President in 2007. As President, he was responsible for implementing the overall strategic direction of the company while overseeing all mergers and acquisitions activity. Under his guidance, Alliant completed 100+ acquisitions in strategic markets across the U.S. while seeing its employee population grow to nearly 11,000.

Additional leadership promotions include:

  • Zimmer’s role of President will be filled by Ralph Hurst, who previously oversaw the company’s retail brokerage operations.
  • Peter Arkley will assume Hurst’s position of President, National Brokerage, overseeing Retail Property & Casualty and Employee Benefits.
  • Sean McConlogue will lead Alliant Underwriting and Consumer Solutions as President, which combines the current underwriting and consumer operations under one umbrella.

Chief Financial Officer Ilene Anders and Chief Operating Officer Peter Carpenter will continue in their current roles.

Alliant, currently the eighth-largest insurance brokerage in the U.S., closed out a record year in 2023 and is one of the industry’s fastest-growing brokerage firms. The company will continue to focus on expanding its reach across its core business lines of property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, underwriting, and personal lines.

The new leadership roles will take effect April 1, 2024.
